Basha Uhuru Youth Fest took it up a notch this time

This year Basha Uhuru decided to spread the program of events over the whole of Youth Month (June) in order to focus on different forms of expression each week. This approach provided a broad look at the abundance of talent, artistic energy and creativity that flows through our South Africa; showcasing an assorted range of creatives from visual & performance art to film, music and poetry. In addition, the Festival included live art, screenings, a market and an interesting music scene.

Artists that were lined up to entertain the crowd included  Moonchild, Reason, Urban Village,Tumi, Johnny Cradle, Mashayabhuqe kaMamba, B.C.U.C, Nonku Phiri, Zuko Collective, Stilo Magolide, Thandiswa Mazwai, Leomile, Sam Turpin, Dj Doowap, Rams and Jean Kitenge.

The Youth Festival gave us various prolific looks at the multitude of artists, entrepreneurs attending and showcasing at the event.

Basha Uhuru Festival is a month-long youth event, curated by Kalashnikovv Gallery – an arts consultancy, gallery and project space based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg .
